Ordinary.
It's not a word that tends to fill us with excitement.
Yet, most of us live most of our lives doing fairly ordinary things, in fairly ordinary ways.
Most of us don't manage to be exceptional in any ongoing or noteworthy way, except to those who love us.
However, it is in this ubiquitous 'Ordinary' that we are honed and polished, that we grow and mature, and that we love and are loved by the ones who matter most to us in Life.
In this New Year season of new hopes and dreams, new plans and resolutions, I suggest we factor in a fresh appreciation of the 'Ordinary' that surrounds and envelops us all.
It's in all of our 'Ordinarys' that we are all tested and challenged each and every day. We might be managing our lives in the Outer World of our paid occupation pretty well, but it's in our own personal 'Ordinary' that we truly reveal, to ourselves and those we love, just how well we are truly tracking through Life.
Let's all esteem the 'Ordinary' in all of our lives. Let's esteem it highly enough to invest our best energy into living our 'Ordinary' as well as we can.
Ordinary.
It's all that most of our lives are.
Yet, in the Ordinary are the moments that reveal and develop our true character.
