Choosing a counsellor is a very personal business.

 

  1. Be sure that the counsellor has a credible and recognised skill set.

  2. Check to see if they belong to a recognised Association.

  3. Then, see if we like the 'look' of the counsellor from photos. Does it seem like we could be relaxed and reveal our issues to this person?

  4. We can then try get a 'feel' for the counsellor by soaking up the vibe of the counsellor online. Look through their website, or their Facebook page, or read their blog.

  5. If we feel the beginnings of a connection, we can ask a friend if they know something.

  6. Trust our instincts.
