Therapist day-off.
Murrays' Bay, with a very NZ Chrissy-icon shot of Rangitoto framed by pohutakawa. The reality is as restful as it looks!
I'm partly sunning myself. And partly zoning out while being soothed by gentle breeze-blown waves. And I'm with a good book friend of mine, Your Feelings are your Friends.
Brian Knight was succinct and wise, though not a poet! However, while not poetry to me, this Preface summarises the thesis of his book, and it's well worth reading. All our feelings are crucial for the well-being of our whole Self.
Sadly, Knight's 1978 NZ publication is fiendishly difficult to access. Amazon has a copy for 1600USD. Free postage to soften the purchase. Buying anyone?! My copy is a treasured family treasure, passed from my therapist mother-in-law to me.
To counteract the difficulty in accessing it, I'm cooking up an idea of doing some Pod-Cast readings of the parts that speak most to me.
Would this be of interest to anyone? Do let me know.
Pod-cast or not, let's all work towards befriending ALL our feelings.
Our full gamut of feelings is in us to ensure we live a rich, dynamic life. If we suppress any feeling, rather than learn how it works, we dampen our ability to feel our other feelings.
Let's honour ALL our feelings.
