Courage.
COURAGE originally came into English from Latin. The Latin word "cor" means "heart". So "courage" meant telling the story of who we are with our whole heart.
Telling the story of who we are with our whole heart.
Phew! What a mammoth act. To reveal who we are with all our heart. Small wonder that we have taken this word and attributed the meaning we now have for "Courage".
So. It turns out it's not what we do in the world that is truly courageous.
Courage is HOW we are.
Courage is being WHO WE REALLY ARE. And being OK with that.
This ties into our series on Vulnerability as our source of strength. As we trust that WE ARE ENOUGH and draw on that confidence to allow us to share ourselves with others, we will know what it means to be truly courageous.
As we share who we really are, through vulnerability, we will discover our own courage and strength.
Courage will allow vulnerability. Vulnerability will release true strength.
